There's countless reasons why you should put Choteau on your list of places to visit.

Choteau is the "Gateway to the Montana Rocky Mountain Front".  You may be wondering "what exactly is the Rocky Mountain Front?"  According to the US Fish and Wildlife website:

"The Rocky Mountain Front is a spectacular and
expansive landscape at the juncture of the Rocky
Mountains to the western margin of the Northern Great
    Plains."

"In Montana, the East Front encompasses an area
from roughly just north of Helena, Montana, angling
    northwest to the Canadian border."

On a smaller scale, residents of the Choteau area consider "The Front" (as its called) to run from Birch Creek (say "crick") in the north to the Dearborn River in the south.

Here's a good map from the National Heritage Program.

Of course, to the people who live and work here, it's more than a textbook definition or coordinates on a map.  It is a way of life, filled with the best that Mother Nature has to offer.
